Welcome to my quest guide on the Black Knights' Fortress quest.

Official quest description: The black knights are up to no good. You are hired by the white knights to spy on them and destroy their secret weapon.

Difficulty: Medium

Length: Medium

Items needed: A cabbage (not from Draynor Manor, bring an extra cabbage to be safe), an iron chainbody, a supply of food, three pieces of black armour or better.

Level requirements: 12 Quest Points and the capability of evading level 33 black knights.

Start Point: Talk to Sir Amik Varze, located on the third floor on the western side of the White Knights’ Castle in Falador.

Reward: 3 Quest Points and 2500 gp.

Collecting all the necessary items

First of all, we need to collect the items necessary for the quest. Two cabbages can be picked from the monastery, near Barbarian Village. An iron chainbody can be bought from the Grand Exchange, Horvik's Armour shop in Varrock (about 210 gp), or it can be smithed from three iron bars. A bronze medium helmet can be bought from Peksa's Helmet Shop in Barbarian Village.

Starting the quest

To start the quest, walk to the White Knights' Castle in Falador. Climb up the western stairs until you reach the 3rd floor and talk to Sir Amik Varze. He will ask you to 'check on' the black knights.

Going to the Black Knights' Fortress

Put on your bronze medium helmet, your iron chainbody, your food, your two cabbages and 3 pieces of black armour (or better), and go to the Black Knights' Fortress, near the monastery. Once you enter the building, there is no further need to impersonate a guard, so switch to your normal armour.

Entering the Black Knights' Fortress

There is a wall directly in front of you. Push it. Climb up the ladder, then the next ladder. You are now on the 3rd floor. Your objective is to get to the eastern half, but there are some boxes that block your way. Climb down the ladder heading to the east.

Head up the ladder in the eastern room and you will be on the 3rd floor again. This time, you are on the other side of the boxes. Head down the ladder next to you.

This is a safe room where no black knights can attack you. You can also recharge your prayer. If you are low on life, you can eat food here, or wait a while for the health to regenerate.

Exit the room by the western door. A black knight will be very hospitable and greet you with "Die intruder!!!" He will then attack you regardless of your combat level. Evade him, run past and down the ladder. You will now be on the bottom floor again, move along the corridor and click the gap in the floor to "listen at grill".

Your character will over-hear a plan to give the black knights an invincibility potion. But you can ruin everything, with "one small cabbage".

Follow the guide in reverse order to head back to the ground floor. The door to the east is the door to the meeting room, try to go in but the guard will stop you.

Tell the guard that you'll go in anyway. A black knight will yell, "Die intruder!!!" and attack you. Run past him and up the ladder to the north.

Walk along this passage, and you will need to push yet another wall. Inside here, use your cabbage with the hole in the floor. Be very careful that you "use" the cabbage with the hole (right-clicking should do the trick), because if you may accidentally eat it. The 2nd cabbage was to make sure there is a backup plan.

Exiting the fortress

The witch will get angry. Now you can leave to claim your reward from Sir Amik Varze. To get out, you can exit the fortress from where you came from, or you can use "Lumbridge Home Teleport" if you're low on health and are in danger of dying.

Go back to Sir Amik Varze. He will give you your reward.

Notes: The message that Sir Amik Varze gives you, that explodes, is a reference to Mission: Impossible.
