Welcome to my quest guide on the Demon Slayer quest.

Official quest description: A mighty demon is being summoned to destroy the city of Varrock. You find out you are the one destined to stop him (or at least try).

Difficulty: Medium

Length: Medium

Items needed: 1 gp and 25 bones.

Level requirements: Capable of defeating a level 27 demon as well as at least 1 level 7 dark wizard. Unless a player has a high enough combat level, they must also prepare to take on 3 level 20 dark wizards and another level 7 dark wizard.

Start Point: Talk to Gypsy Aris in the centre of Varrock.

Reward: 3 Quest Point and the weapon Silverlight (super effective against demons).

Before you start this quest, you should open up a World Map to avoid getting lost.

Talk to Gypsy Aris in her tent in Varrock square. She will tell you your fortune is you "cross her hand with silver" (1 coin). She foresees the summoning of a demon called Delrith. She also sees that you are the one who stops him.

Next, talk to Sir Prysin. He is located on the middle west of Varrock Castle. Ask for the weapon Silverlight, the weapon necessary to kill Delrith. Sir Prysin keeps it hidden and you will need to collect 3 keys in order to attain it.

1st key

Walk over to the northwest corner of the castle, where there are stairs. Climb up to floors and you will see Captain Rovin. Convince him to give you his key.

2nd key

Climb back down the stairs onto the ground floor. Go into the northeast corner of Varrock Castle. Climb up the ladder and grab the bucket in the room next-door. Climb back down and use the bucket "with the sink". This will give you a bucket of water. Walk outside through the kitchen door and look for a drain. Use the bucket of water with the drain.

Walk down the east side of the castle. There will be a gap in the wall, walk through it and there will be a red exclamation mark on your RuneScape mini map. There is a manhole where the exclamation mark is. Climb down and walk northwest. You will eventually reach a stream with zombies on the other side, the key is next to a pile of skeletons.

3rd key

Climb out of the manhole. Now, it's time to collect 25 bones (bring extras to be sure you don't accidentally bury any). The best way to collect a large number of a bones is in a populated low-level fighting area. Use "Lumbridge Home Teleport" and walk to the goblin area next to the Al Kharid toll gate. Collect the necessary bones.

Go to the Wizards' Tower, south of Draynor Village, with your bones with you. Climb up the stairs to the 2nd floor. Talk to Wizard Traiborn. Give him your bones and he will do a ritual, giving you the last key.

Destroying Delrith

Walk back up to Varrock and talk to Gypsy Aris. She will give you an incantation. Write this down, as it is different for all players.

Now, we will destroy Delrith. He is a level 27 monster (non-aggressive). More of a worry are the dark wizards around him. The level 20's can hit up to 6 with their magic. It is preferable to wear ranged armour, although Delrith uses melee. If you are combat level 40 or over, there is no need to bring food, but lower players will need to bring food. An added advantage of being a high level is that the dark wizards will ignore you.

Notes: These prices are much cheaper than strong melee armour, but they are much stronger (even compared to the best melee armour) against magic attacks.

Head south of Varrock, to the stone circle surrounded by dark wizards. Remember to bring Silverlight. Delrith will be released into the RuneScape dimension. Once you can see him, a level 7 dark wizard will attack the player regardless of his combat level.

Kill the wizard with Silverlight and then take on Delrith. Delrith only has 7 hitpoints and is rather easy to defeat. The reason he has so little health can be attributed to being weakened after moving through dimensions. After he is defeated, he becomes "Weakened Delrith". Say the correct incantation to send him back to the dimension he came from.

After Delrith disappears, the quest is finished. The player is allowed to keep Silverlight (you can buy another one from Sir Prysin if you lose it) and will also attain 3 quest points.
