Welcome to my quest guide on the Ernest the Chicken quest.

Official quest description: Veronica is very worried. Her fiancé went into the big spooky manor house to ask for directions. An hour later and he's still not out yet.

Difficulty: Easy

Length: Medium

Items needed: None

Level requirements: The ability to run away from or fight a level 22 skeleton.

Start Point: Talk to Veronica, who is south of Draynor Manor and at the entrance to the forest.

Reward: 4 Quest Points and 300 coins.

Veronica will ask you to find her fiancé Ernest. He entered Draynor Manor and did not return.

Walk north into Draynor Manor and watch out for the attacking trees. Walk up two sets of stairs to the top floor of the manor. Talk to the professor, and he will explain that he accidentally turned Ernest into a chicken. To help him change Ernest back, he needs certain parts. These are a pressure gauge, a rubber tube and an oil can.

Pressure Gauge

The pressure gauge is hidden in a fountain outside the manor. First, you will need fish food and poison. Fish food is on the 2nd floor in a room behind the staircase near some ghosts. Poison is on the ground floor in a room south of the range. Use the fish food with the poison to turn it into "poisoned fish food".

Exit the manor from the east side, picking up a spade along the way. Walk around the back of the manor and use the spade with the compost on the west side to obtain a key. Now, head south until you reach a fountain. Use the poisoned fish food with the fountain to kill all the fish (which is not all that cruel because they would have dealt 1 damage if you searched the fountain). Search the fountain to find the pressure gauge.

Rubber Tube

Go back into the manor through the front door. Behind the staircase, there is a room with a skeleton and a rubber tube in it. Open the door and grab the rubber tube. If you are combat level 45 or the skeleton is in another part of the room, the skeleton will ignore you. If he attacks you, simply run away if you're not adequately prepared.

Oil Can

In the southwestern room of the manor there is a room with a bookcase. Search the bookcase and it will reveal a secret room. Climb down the ladder. Now, the process is rather confusing, so bear with me. Pull lever B and lever A (lever B is closer, but you can pull in any order), enter the northeastern door, pull lever D, go through the southwestern door, enter the southern door, pull lever B and A again, enter the northwestern door, walk through the western door, enter the northern door, pull lever E and F, enter the eastern door, go through the next eastern door, pull lever C, enter the north western door, enter the western door, pull lever E, walk through the eastern door, enter the southern door, enter the southern door, and then go through the western door. You will now be in the room containing the oil can. Take the oil can and leave the basement.

Walk back up to the top floor and talk to the professor. Ernest will become a human again and will give you your reward.

Notes: If you talk to Veronica again, she will say that Ernest has gone off with some green thing.
