Merchanting is consists of a buying and selling technique. It is a simple way to make money as it requires no skills. Basically, you buy something at a low price (typically in large amounts) and you sell it at a higher price.

With the introduction of the Grand Exchange in November of 2007, the capabilities of merchanting have been severely limited. It is still possible to earn money through merchanting, however. For example, taking advantage of price trends or fiddling with minimum and maximum prices on the Grand Exchange.

Here are some ways of merchanting. You could also consider, for example, mining rune essence or chopping down willows as well as buying them to bolster the numbers you have.

Merchanting trades often take place at or near banks. Changing worlds is often an effective method of getting different prices.
