Scimitar

My favourite weapon in RuneScape is the scimitar. In real life it is a sword with a curved blade from Asia (especially the Middle East). Scimitars are excellent slashing weapons. This makes them very useful against unarmoured opponents, who have a hard time defending constant attacks. A scimitar has less of a defensive bonus compared to a longsword, but it is faster.

You can buy scimitars at the scimitar shop in Al Kharid. They sell up to the mithril scimitar and the shop is located at the icon.

Scimitars can be attained from Zeke's Superior Scimitars in Al Kharid (see above). They can also be bought from the Grand Exchange quite easily. Buying a scimitar from the Grand Exchange is often be cheaper and you can sell the scimitar for about the same price when you're done with it.

Note that black scimitars are considered a rare item and are not sold at the scimitar shop. Since black scimitars can be expensive, I suggest you buy a black longsword as a substitute if you do not have much money, either from the Varrock Swordshop or from the Grand Exchange. If you can afford it, black scimitars are stronger and faster than black longswords and you can get your money back by selling it to the Grand Exchange or to other players.
