Before you start this quest, you should open up a World Map to avoid getting lost.
Before we start the quest, we might as well collect the necessary items. Buy a redberry pie (about 245 gp) and 2 iron bars (about 300 gp) from the Grand Exchange. If you want to make these items yourself, you need level 10 cooking to make the pie, and level 15 smithing and level 15 mining in order to mine iron ore and turn them into iron bars.
Talk to the squire in the White Knights' Castle in Falador. Make sure you do not ask him for a quest. He will tell you that he lost Sir Vyvin's ceremonial sword and that you need to help him replace it. The squire will tell you to talk to Reldo, Varrock's librarian. Reldo is located in the Varrock Castle at the far end.
Reldo will talk to you about Imcando dwarves. You will be directed to Port Sarim to look for Thurgo. Before you go, make sure to take your redberry pie with you.
Thurgo's house is on the side of a hill south from Port Sarim. There is a red exclamation mark on his house. Give him your redberry pie and he will happily talk to you. He says he needs a picture of the sword so that he knows what he is making.
Go back north (it's pretty much directly north) to the White Knights' Castle and talk to the squire. He will tell you there is a portrait in Sir Vyvin's room.
Go to the third floor of the castle, in Sir Vyvin's room. You should find a portrait in a cupboard. Sir Vyvin will stop you if he is in the room. There are a few ways to avoid this. Get someone to distract Sir Vyvin (this is a choice if you talk to him) and search the cupboard. You can also wait for Sir Vyvin to talk out the room and close his door when he walks out. Or he might walk behind the door, after which you can search the cupboard quickly.
Go back to Thurgo with your portrait, a pickaxe and some food (only if your combat level is lower than 25). Thurgo now knows that we're making a blurite sword. You will need blurite ore now. Go into the dungeon next to Thurgo's house. This is Asgarnian Ice Dungeon (also known as the blurite cave). At the end of the cave is an ice area. This is where the blurite is located. Mine 1 blurite ore (2 if you want your own blurite sword) and exit the cave, watching out for the aggressive monsters. Major threats in the cave are level 50+ ice warriors and ice giants. Please note that it is okay even if you die because the ore is taken with you.
Pick up your iron bars (2 or 4) along with your blurite ore (1 or 2). Talk to Thurgo and he will make you a blurite sword. If you want a blurite sword for yourself, drop the sword Thurgo just made and talk to him again. Then pick up the sword your dropped.
Go back to the squire in the White Knights' Castle. Quickly drop one of your swords, tell him you have the sword, and after he takes the sword from you, pick up the sword you dropped.
Notes: The blurite sword is rather weak, so players should only make an extra one for display value.
This quest gives excellent smithing experience. A player can almost smith full iron if he started this quest with smithing level 1.
