Woodcutting is way of making money. Players use axes to cut down different types of trees all around RuneScape in order to attain their logs. Woodcutting is a very useful and popular skill. Selling the logs given by high-level trees to other players can make players a great deal of money.
In order to chop down trees, players will need axes. Bronze axes have respawns in many places, including one in the chicken house on the way from Lumbridge to Varrock. You can also collect a free bronze axe from the Woodsman Tutor south of the Lumbridge furnace. Other axes include iron axes, steel axes, black axes, mithril axes, adamant axes and rune axes.
Selling logs to a general store will not earn much (which is a general rule in selling anything else to the general store), but selling to other players, members is particular, can be quite productive. Log prices have been fluctuating recently.

Please note that maple logs can only be cut down by members, although they can be traded on free worlds.
When your
woodcutting level gets
higher, you should purchase a better axe.
Stronger axes allows players to cut trees faster.
The specialist shop is Bob's Brilliant Axes (
),
located in Lumbridge. However, they only sell up to steel axes
so players must purchase stronger axes from the
Grand Exchange or
from other players. You can also get Bob to fix your axes, no
matter what metal they're made of.
To be able to wield stronger axes, you must have a high enough attack level. To be able to mine with certain axes, you need to have or be over a certain woodcutting level. Here is a chart detailing this information, as well as axe prices.
